Targeted Local Hire Program
Public sector jobs are typically more stable and offer substantial benefits. My office has served as a bridge connecting folks in CD8 to City jobs through job fairs and through the promotion of Targeted Local Hire.
The Targeted Local Hire (TLH) program places applicants in entry-level positions that have upward mobility. This program does not require a civil service exam and there are no minimum requirements to apply. The program targets residents who may face barriers to employment and have traditionally been excluded from quality public sector careers.
