The City of Los Angeles is committed to repairing sidewalks and improving accessibility. In December of 2016, the City launched Safe Sidewalks LA, a 30-year, $1.4 billion program to make sidewalks accessible to everyone. There is a great need for repairs across Los Angeles because this is the first comprehensive sidewalk repair program in nearly four decades.
The Sidewalk Rebate Program reimburses eligible property owners for a portion of the cost of their sidewalk repair. The program will accept new applications for a limited time, based on available funding. It is important for CD 8 residents to sign up as soon as possible to increase your chances of receiving funding. For more information on the Rebate Program, please review the FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS.
Rebate offers are calculated based on the amount of sidewalk adjacent to the property that is in need of repair. A trained City representative will visit the eligible site to determine which elements of the sidewalk are in need of repair and the cost to bring it into compliance with City requirements. The rebate offer will be approximately half of the estimated cost to repair, up to a cap of $10,000 per lot for residential (R5 or more restrictive) and commercial properties. The exact rebate amount is based on the assessment and rebate price list.
Visit Safe Sidewalks LA or submit a Service Request through MyLA311 to sign up for the program.
