Council District 8 saw a need for new public safety strategies that fit our neighborhoods. The office took a multi-pronged approach that addressed both the need for public safety and the reconciliation of systemic abuses. Our office addresses this issue through on-the-ground programming – centering community intervention, task forces, transforming policing models, legislation, and community events.
