Angel Valeriano, Council Aide
As the Council Aide, Angel oversees various databases to ensure that any city service projects and events within the Eighth District are accounted for. He conducts analysis and produces visuals to better assist with the decision-making process within Council District Eight. Angel also supports communicating to the Eighth District on prominent issues, opportunities, and departmental work that is being done within the community through a monthly newsletter.
Prior to his government service, Angel served and is still serving, as a full-time student at the California State University of Northridge located within the San Fernando Valley. He anticipates completing college and obtaining his B.A. in Urban and Regional Planning during the Fall of 2018. Angel enjoys planning-related research and has previously worked on investigating property value patterns, mitigation measures for safer street intersections, and green space accessibility.
A local Angeleno, Angel was raised in the San Fernando Valley neighborhoods of Reseda and Van Nuys. He is the oldest of six siblings and believes it is his duty to set the proper example for them to follow. On his free time, Angel enjoys exploring the city with friends, trying new dishes, and spending time with his family.
